Victory Motorcycles, a division of Polaris Industries Inc. , has gone “Hollywood” teaming up with actor Tom Arnold to create a one-of-a-kind motorcycle geared to raise money for two deserving charities. A Victory Vision Street(TM) featuring a custom paint job designed by legendary special effects guru, the late Stan Winston, will be auctioned off on eBay(R) from July 21-30 and all net proceeds will be donated to Operation Homefront, http://www.operationhomefront.net, which benefits the families of American soldiers, and Camp del Corazon, http://www.campdelcorazon.org, a pediatric heart patient camp that hosts kids who have undergone invasive and life-changing operations.

The unique paint design created by Winston, a close friend of Arnold’s and a riding buddy of many years, was inspired by the recent big-screen feature, “Iron Man” — one of the legend’s last projects before his passing. In addition to the extraordinary paint scheme, the bike also has customized wheels and plates from Ness Customs, a custom 400 watt stereo system designed by Al & Eds Stereo, a custom seat and Pure Victory Gear accessories from Victory Motorcycles.

“The styling of the Victory Vision combined with Stan’s creative design and the generous donations of many others have created an unbelievable riding machine,” said Arnold. “Motorcycles riders and movie lovers will go crazy for this bike and we are thrilled at the opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of the kids at Camp del Corazon and the families who are a part of Operation Homefront with this auction.”

Bidding on this revolutionary bike will begin on eBay on July 21 and last for 10 days. The highest bidder at the conclusion of the auction will ride off with a piece of Hollywood history and, more importantly, the knowledge that he or she has helped touch the lives of those involved with two extraordinary charities.

To learn more about the charity motorcycle, visit http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/VRA/NewsEvents/StanWinston.htm. The bike is currently on display in Pickerington, Ohio (just outside of the Columbus area) at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in the recently opened “MotoStars” exhibit. It is featured in a collection of over 50 famous and celebrity-owned motorcycles. For more information on the exhibit, log on to http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org/exhibits/Motostars/Motostars.asp.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE, England - In light of the recent legal ruling in France resulting in a $63 million fine against eBay for selling counterfeit luxury goods, the global issue of product authenticity among online auction sites has been brought sharply into focus. Cybercrime and “e-fencing” are serious matters in the US as well, costing consumers an estimated $4 billion annually. A judge in the US is due to rule at any time on a similar case brought by Tiffany.

This threat was identified eight years ago by the founders of CheckMEND.com, an online property validation service, who have compiled what is now the world’s largest database of counterfeit and stolen goods with more than 100 million records. A simple online search (or “check”) allows auction sites, consumers and manufacturers to validate the authenticity of a product for less than a dollar.

Adrian Portlock, founder and CEO of CheckMEND, has been in the business of identifying dubious goods sold online for nearly a decade and is an expert in this area, having worked extensively with law enforcement and government organizations. He said, “If you strip away the smoke and mirrors, this is a simple argument about whether online auction sites should be pro-active in policing the property being sold on their sites, and this issue is not going to go away. No system is ever going to be perfect at identifying all questionable items, but you have to start somewhere. CheckMEND is the most comprehensive system of its type, recommended by eBay in the UK when buying a mobile phone.”

A short demo of the CheckMEND system can be viewed at www.checkmend.com.

About CheckMEND

CheckMEND is a commercial service provided by Recipero Limited, a specialist aggregator of information. Based in Gloucestershire, UK, Recipero provides services to a range of blue chip clients and government organizations. The data on the CheckMEND database is checked over 1 million times a month by hundreds of approved organizations from more than 40 countries worldwide. For more information, visit CheckMEND at www.checkmend.com.
