Published October 28th, 2008
Diamonex Limited, last week commenced the auction of 10,000 carats, its first parcel of diamonds from its Lerala Mine.
“The diamond sale will allow DiamonEx’s Lerala Mine to join the very small list of producing hard rock diamond mines in the world, a list of less than 20 mines, and also make it the first independently owned producing diamond mine in the Republic of Botswana.” said Dan O’Neill, Managing Director of DiamonEx. “Botswana produces up to 30% of the world’s rough diamonds by value.”
DiamonEx is a Brisbane, Australia-based specialist diamond company developing a diamond mine based at Lerala within a region of Botswana and adjacent South Africa.
