Patents in the Digital Media Systems & Management category include technologies related to video display and editing, data processing, on-demand systems, and multi-dimensional display graphics. Specifically, Lot 75 includes a broad portfolio of patent assets that relate to enhancing 3-dimensional graphics and compression techniques relating to MPEG-4; and Lot 80 relates to methods of modifying 2- and 3D graphics on computers and mobile devices, allowing for the efficient creation and maintenance of emotive avatars. Forward citing companies include Adobe Sytems, Apple, Eastman Kodak, Google, Intel and Sony.
The Digital Audio Solutions category, including Lots 86 and 87, relate, respectively, to a method for making the millions of audio and video files available on the Internet a searchable form of data, and a system for allowing radio listeners and television viewers to retrieve music information on a real-time, customizable basis directly from their wireless telecommunication devices.
“We are thrilled to offer all of these innovative, ground-breaking patents in our upcoming auction. The patents available in the digital media space pertain to increasingly lifelike representations sent effectively over networks, and are valuable assets for anyone interested in authoring or delivering digital content, including industries including video game manufacturers or virtual world creators,” said Andrew T. Ramer, President of Ocean Tomo Auctions. “Additionally, the digital audio patent in Lot 86 represents a significant breakthrough in allowing users for the first time to search audio and video data, such as photos and music, on the Internet. It creates a powerful way of categorizing and searching the non-text data that increasingly makes up more and more of the files available on the Internet.”
