Picasso Painting for Australian Auction
Published June 12th, 2008
The auctioneers believe the work will go for between $5 million and $7 million on Wednesday when it is auctioned at the Deutscher-Menzies Gallery in Kensington.
‘Sylvette’ was painted by Picasso in 1954, late in the renowned artist’s career. The ponytail and young face of Sylvette David is recognisable in the brightly coloured, abstract portrait.
