Coimbatore tea auction prices rise

Total offerings at the weekly auction held at the Tea Trade Association of Coimbatore on Friday was higher at 6.46 lakh kg, with leaf grades accounting for 2.23 lakh kg and the balance 4.23 lakh kg of tea dust.
There was good demand for the Nilgiris high grown orthodox leaf and export enquiries for the larger teas and brokens.
