Zimbabwe Tobacco Auctions Total US$44m

Zimbabwe has so far this season earned US$44 million from both contract and auction tobacco sales at all three floors since the tobacco auctions started over a month ago.
According to latest statistics released by the Tobacco Industry Marketing Board the money was earned from the sale of 14 087 018kg of tobacco at an average price of US$3,26. Of the total, contract sales grossed US$27 million from 8 864 149kg while auction sales grossed US$17 million from 5 222 869kg.
