The 2008 WGBH Auction has a new schedule and is adopting a new format, with virtually all of this year’s Auction action occurring online. Whereas previous Auctions were televised on WGBH 2 during the first week in June, this year’s WGBH Auction will kick off May 1 at www.auction.wgbh.org, where auction fans will be able to bid on hundreds of items.
This year’s Auction offers experiences related directly to WGBH, including choosing an image (from a set of curated images) to appear on the digital mural; getting an inside look at “Antiques Roadshow” and having lunch with executive producer Marsha Bemko; going behind the scenes of “The World” and being Lisa Mullins’ guest for a live broadcast; sitting in on a taping of “Greater Boston;” and spending some time with WGBH 89.7’s Brian O’Donovan at an Irish pub.
