The Colombian government will auction rights to explore for oil in 151 blocks during 2008, Armando Zamora, the chief of the oil licensing agency, ANH, said Monday in Cartagena.
The Colombian government will auction rights to seek oil and gas in eight blocks located near existing fields currently producing heavy crude oil. The ANH invited companies to bid in that auction, though Zamora declined to identify any of them.
That auction will be held in April.
