The school district holds for a year supplies they aren’t using.
After that, the schools take one final look, and then they go up for auction. Friday, Metra Park’s Montana Pavilion held a preview of Saturday’s show. The garage sale items have set prices and will be available for purchase Saturday morning.
Items include microwaves, television sets, and VCR’s. A truck, vans, and other bigger ticket items are up for bidding in a silent auction that will run throughout the Saturday. The money will be used for school upgrades.
“The money all goes back into the surplus coffers where we recycle computers and restore equipment and pays for expenses for the sale,” said Mike Dilley, Director of Purchasing for Billings Public Schools. The event will run from 9am to 2pm Saturday. Dilley warned buyer beware: all items are sold “as is.”
