Tea prices lower at Coimbatore auction

Tea prices maintained a lower trend, despite improved demand, at the auctions held here last week, industry source said on Tuesday.
Selected well made Nilgiri Orthodox Leaf ruled firm, while other grades quoted lower by Rs 2-Rs 3 per kg.
With improved demand from all sections, good liquoring CTC leaf teas were firm to occasionally dearer by Rs 1, especially smaller broken and fannings, while medium plainer bolder grades met with improved export demand and were dearer by Rs 2-Rs 3, the source said.
