Another Olympic-sized effort sought for Chuck Long Sports Auction

Published January 15th, 2008

“The Olympics” is the theme of this year’s Chuck Long Sports Auction, which is appropriate since the fundraiser for the Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities always comes up with an Olympic-sized effort to raise money for speech, physical and occupational therapy to Q-C area children.

Last year the sports auction raised a record $69,000.

This year’s event will be Saturday, March 8, at the Isle of Capri Conference Center in Bettendorf. A “tailgate preview” will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a chance to enjoy tailgate-type food and beverages and to look over auction items. The live auction will begin at 7 p.m., and a silent auction will run through the evening.

Reservations are required. Tickets are $40 per person, or $300 for a table of eight. Attendance is limited to 400, and last year’s event was sold out. The CTC does accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. For reservations, call W.K. Juncker at (309) 762-9552, ext. 16, or Cara Saul at ext. 17. qconline.com
