The Lawrence Bus Co. disbanded its fleet of 24 passenger buses and numerous other vehicles on Saturday, as they were auctioned off on January 12th.”

Forced to shut its operations after nearly fifty years, owner Chris Ogle had no choice but to liquidate the entire fleet of vehicles. The end came in June when Kansas University dropped Lawrence Bus Co. as its transportation provider in favor of California-based MV Transportation.

Lots included:

The entire fleet of (24) RTS 30-40 passenger buses, (5) Ford Taurus’s, (3) Escorts, Navigator, (4) Windstars, Ranger, (3) F150 & 350 trucks, (4) Mercedes Benz, (2) Omnibus’s, (2) antique GM & Ford buses, lift vans & (2) storage trailers.

50 pallets of new & used parts inventory to include brake, engine, body, trim, wheel & tire, maintenance & aluminum, copper, iron, SALVAGE. The parts & inventory will span a 50 year time frame. Tools will include Miller Matic welder, Walker drill press, torch set, jacks, power washers & more. Office equipment includes a phone system, large Mosler floor safe desks, chairs & file cabinets
