Recycle.co.uk domain auctioned for record 150,000 pounds

Recycle.co.uk has been sold for £150,000, a new record for a .co.uk domain.
The domain was bought by venture capital firm, ASAP Ventures, which is already using the address for a new recycling venture. The site acts as a recycling swap-shop, allowing people to donate unwanted items to local people.
Sedo, the domain name auctioneers who sold the site, also sold mobile.co.uk for £120,000.
Both prices broke the previous record of £110,000 for a .co.uk domain name, that Sainsbury paid for taste.co.uk in 1997.
