Good demand at Mombasa tea auctions
Published September 24th, 2007
Kenyan teas at Mombasa auctions saw a good demand. Best and brighter varieties sold at firm to dearer rates while medium and plainer sorts eased slightly with quality. At Colombo auctions, Sri Lanka saw strong demand continuing unabated from the CIS countries, Iran and Dubai. Prices for all categories continued to move upwards.
Future sales too are expected to witness an upward pressure, with quantities on offer being significantly lower.
