Mayo auctioneers merge to create new business

Well know Mayo auctioneers, Peter Tuohy and Gerard O’Toole, formerly of Tuohy & Co Real Estate Alliance and Sherry Fitzgerald O’Toole respectively, have announced that they are to merge, to create a new practice under an independent brand to be known as Tuohy O’Toole.
The firm will have offices in Westport and Castlebar, and with the combined resources of both, Tuohy O’Toole will be the largest practice of auctioneers and valuers in County Mayo. The new business will offer a broad range of property services across all types of residential and commercial property together with development land.
Mr Tuohy stated that the new partnership has come about out of a desire to offer the very highest levels of professionalism and customer service.
“Gerard O’Toole and ourselves had respected businesses, but we felt that the merged entity, combining both our businesses and experience, would create a much strengthened independent practice that can provide our clients with broader advice and improved service.”
Mr O’Toole said he was delighted to be joining forces with Peter and Joanne Tuohy, who he said are recognised as running one of the most ‘highly respected auctioneering firms in the west’.
“Peter, as a past President of the IAVI, has run a long established and thriving business, which I am confident we can further develop under this new independent brand. Peter and I share a common approach to the provision of property advice, which is based on competence, experience, professionalism and integrity, and we look forward to continuing to offer such service to all our clients,” said Mr O’Toole.
