The weekend auction of 15 rare cars collected over several decades by local developer Richard Solove raised $14.3 million for cancer research at Ohio State University.

The collection included the only known complete set of Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost models from 1907 to 1915, according to Gooding & Co., which conducted the auction in Pebble Beach, Calif. The collection included 13 Rolls and two other early cars.

The highest sale from the Solove collection was $3 million for one of the Silver Ghosts, a 1912 limousine.
