International auctioneer Christie’s will hold a wine auction at Mulia Senayan Hotel, South Jakarta on Thursday to raise money for disabled children.
“We need Rp 1.5 billion to renovate our school building,” said Lucky Suprapto, an executive at the Foundation for the Care of Disabled Children (YPAC).
Dozens of bottles of wine made between the 1800s and 1945 will be offered to around 650 guests at the “Gala Charity Dinner and Wine Auction” organized to commemorate the hotel’s 10th anniversary.
Other than wine, the three best paintings from an earlier competition for disabled children will be auctioned during the gala dinner.
While donating to the foundation, the guests will also savor a six-course dinner prepared by Alain Passard, Master Chef at Arpege restaurant, Paris.
