European bonds underperform US Treasuries

Published July 3rd, 2007

European bonds underperformed US Treasuries, as the EU confidence indicators signalled ongoing strong growth in the euro zone. Bonds in the US and EMU nevertheless remain very close to key resistance levels, which if broken would improve the technical outlook for bonds. In the EMU, yields rose between 1.5 and 0.5 basis points, while in the US yields fell around 8 basis points across the curve.
