UK eBay Sellers buy Postage Online

eBay and Royal Mail have joined forces to allow sellers on eBay to pay for and print off postage stamps online, direct from the eBay site. This partnership sees an enhancement to the eBay website which allows sellers to accurately price, book for collection and facilitate their postage from the comfort of their computer terminal without the need to leave the eBay website. The solution allows the printing off of labels and electronic stamps directly from their home computer that are compatible with the Royal Mail & Parcelforce delivery networks.

Portaltech (Portal Technology Systems Ltd) have worked with Royal Mail over the last 5 years to help improve and build their online strategy and solutions. Portaltech were commissioned to design and build the online postage solution for Royal Mail and to construct the software infrastructure to support the eBay initiative. The system has been expertly implemented to handle the expected throughput with failover and redundancy to ensure that the service is available 24/7 to eBay customers.
