eBay ends creative account with DLKW

Published April 11th, 2007

EBay has ended its relationship with its advertising agency Delaney Lund Knox Warren (DLKW), and has started a review of its £5.5m creative business.

DLKW has declined to repitch.

The internet auction business is already believed to have approached several unnamed agencies for the advertising account.

PHD, which handles buying and planning for eBay, will not be affected by the review.

DLKW was appointed as eBay’s first UK creative advertising agency in 2004.

The current campaign features the strapline: “Buy it. Sell it. Love it.” The campaign marked a change in strategy for eBay, which has previously used product and price-led direct response advertising.
