Accident at Ritchie Bros

Polk County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a man, 39, died after an industrial accident in Davenport this evening.
The man was sandblasting a large piece of earthmoving equipment at about 5 p.m. at Ritchie Bros., an auctioneer on 700 Ritchie Road, when he apparently slipped and fell onto the ground, according to a department release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man worked for a subcontractor for Richie Bros.
