Czech property auctions

The premises of bankrupt Czech arms maker Zbrojovka Brno were sold at a record CZK 707 million at today’s auction which has thus become the biggest auction in Czech history.
Below is a survey of the biggest auctions of property in the Czech Republic.
CZK 707 million – Jan 31, 2007 – Investment group J&T buys premises of bankrupt Czech arms maker Zbrojovka Brno. Starting price was set at CZK 352 million.
CZK 465 million – Dec 1, 2005 – TSR Czech Republic, a subsidiary of German concern TSR-Recycling buys property of bankrupt MS-Unikov Ostrava (former Kovosrot). Starting price: CZK 180 million.
CZK 354.9 million – June 7, 2002 – OMV buys 36 Petra filling stations in second auction. Starting price: CZK 352.9 million.
The first auction of the property took place in Oct 2001 but the winner Eurotank failed to pay the price of CZK 552 million.
CZK 330 million – Dec 16, 2004 – Premises of Teslamp Holesovice in Prague are sold in two auctions, one part at at CZK 125 million and the other at CZK 205 million.
CZK 231 million – June 10, 2003 – Brno’s entertainment and sports complex Boby Centrum is sold to Daniel Sorm. Starting price: CZK 210 million.
CZK 189.9 million – Sept 30, 2004 – Sekyra Group acquires the property of bankrupt company Gotex in Brno. Starting price: CZK 72 million.
CZK 139 million – July 26, 2006 – Railway tracks operator Sprava zeleznicni dopravni cesty (SZDC) sells its office building in central Prague. Starting price: CZK 115.6 million. Name of new owner is not disclosed.
CZK 100 million – May 26, 2004 – Unnamed foreign firm buys property near Wenceslas Square in central Prague. Starting price: CZK 21.5 million.
