Chinese authorities have auctioned off jades, paintings and other items seized from six corrupt Chinese officials in an unusual effort to recover money lost to corruption, a news report said.
More than 300 people attended the sale in the eastern city of Hefei in Anhui province, the Xinhua News Agency said.
The goods were seized from officials including Wang Huaizhong, a former Anhui deputy governor who was executed in 2004 for taking bribes, the report said.
The communist government has punished thousands of Chinese officials in a multiyear anti-graft crackdown
