The North Beach Hotel in Ayrshire, which overlooks the 18th green at Prestwick Golf Club, has been sold less than three months after it was put on the market.
The golf club played host to the very first Open Championship in 1860.
The three-star hotel was bought through Christie’s auctioneers by Mr Singh, who owns another property on the same road.
Graeme Smith, from Christie+Co’s Glasgow branch, said: “After being in the same family for more than two decades, the hotel has built up an outstanding reputation.
