Vietnam to auction off cars used during the APEC Summit

The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance announced that 282 cars used during the APEC Summit would be auctioned on January 8 and 9.
The procedures were complete, it said, adding there would be four auctions starting on the eighth.
In the first auction 24 Mercedes Benz E280s will go under the hammer with an upset price of VND1.97 billion (US$122,783).
There will also be 23 lots of E200Ks with two cars per lot. The upset price has been set at VND2.62 billion ($163,000) per lot.
In the second auction, the Ford Mondeo 2.5 will be the main item. Twenty six lots of five each will be available starting at VND3.4 billion ($212,000) per lot, and two lots of six at VND4.08 billion ($255,000).
Mitsubishi Pajeros will go under the hammer in the third auction.
There will be three lots of five starting at VND2.9 billion ($181,000) per lot, and one lot of six units at VND3.48 billion ($217,000).
The fourth and last auction will offer the 16-seat Ford Transit. Nine lots of five will start at VND2.05 billion ($128,000), and one lot of four at VND1.64 billion ($102,000).
Application forms will be available and inspection of the vehicles will be held on January 2.
