Employee sold hospital supplies on eBay

A 42-year-old Spokane man pleaded guilty today to nine federal charges that include stealing inventory from Sacred Heart Medical Center and earning more than $644,000 by selling those items on eBay.
Kevin Lee Ruff pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Fred Van Sickle to health care fraud and four counts each of embezzlement from a health care facility and money laundering.
He could face up to 10 years in federal prison on the first five counts and up to 20 years in prison for the four money laundering charges. Van Sickle scheduled Ruff for sentencing at 9 a.m. March 20.
