Dixons.co.uk has reserved 18 PS3 consoles to auction in aid of charity, give you the chance to pay just £1 for one of the units if you’re the bidder with the lowest unique bid.

The auction closes at midnight tonight.

The auction is being held for Foyer, a UK charity that helps around 10,000 homeless young people a year find a home, get a job, or go to school. The charity is one of four that Dixons.co.uk is supporting as part of its Switched on Communities programme.

The winners of the auction will be the first in line to receive their consoles once they’re released in the UK next spring.

To enter, you can dial 0901 293 6060 to register a bid – the lowest unique bid will win the console, but all callers have to pay £1; all proceeds go to the charity.
