Photography at Oregon University Auction – Nov 12

Prints from more than 50 prominent American photographers will be sold to the highest bidder on Sunday, Nov. 12 during the 30th annual Photography at Oregon Auction at the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
The event opens with a 1:30 p.m. public viewing, followed by the auction at 2:30 p.m. The sale will be held in a gallery on the main floor of the museum, 1430 Johnson Lane.
Prints in this year’s sale range from figure studies to assemblages to landscapes in a variety of photographic media. Proceeds from the sale will support Photography at Oregon programs.
This year’s contributing photographers include such well-known American photographers as Ruth Bernhard from San Francisco; Christopher Landis of Los Angeles; and Jim Lommason, Brian Lanker and Craig Hickman from Eugene. Christopher Burkett, Michael Kenna, Dennis Purdy, Christopher Landis and Fritz Liedtke are contributing photographers from Portland.
A sampling of the photographs is currently on display on the main floor of the museum in a gallery dedicated to displaying photography. Photographs can also be previewed at an online catalog accessible at http://www.photographyatoregon.org/06/exh.html.
