McCartney Lyrics for NY Auction – Dec 4

Original handwritten lyrics to ‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer’ are to be auctioned at a rock and pop memorabilia auction in New York.
‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer’ appeared on the Beatles’ 1969 album, ‘Abbey Road’. The lyrics are expected to fetch between $200 – 300,000 (£105 – 160,000).
A Christie’s representative commented: “Early Paul McCartney lyrics rarely appear on the auction market and this represents a very rare opportunity for collectors and fans.”
The auction commenced on December 4th 2006.
