Delhi Tobacco Auctions Open
Published October 16th, 2006
The market opens this year under a cloud of uncertainty, as the Landowners Association wants the market closed as a way of getting the governments to agree to an exit strategy. Tobacco board chair Fred Neukamm says the market will open on schedule. Neukamm says pressure needs to be kept on the governments. He indicates there is some positive news, as a high level meeting was held 2 weeks ago in Ottawa, and the exit strategy is being taken seriously.
