Carphone Warehouse has launched its new mobile-specific auction site, mymobileauction.com.
Tristia Clarke, Marketing Director for The Carphone Warehouse said: ‘Customers tend to change their phone every year so this offers the perfect opportunity to sell on old handsets. With new phone contracts often lasting 18 months, it also offers the chance pick up a bargain without having to wait for a free upgrade.’
Mymobileauction.com’s USP is said to be ease-of-use, with a foolproof system of listing items and a simple, transparent sales system. After the first month there will be a flat listing fee of £1.25, which includes a £1 fee for checking against a database of stolen mobile phones. Mymobileauction.com guarantee that stolen phones cannot be placed for sale on their site, since users need to register the handset’s unique IMEI number before listing it for auction.
