Ottawa Train Auction Mistake

Published October 4th, 2006

The City of Ottawa briefly put three diesel rail cars for the O-Train up for sale.

Light Rail Project Manager Rejean Chartrand admits somebody jumped the gun in placing the cars on the governmental version of eBay.

City Council decided to sell the cars once Ottawa received the final green light for the north-south Light Rail Transit Project.

The Federal Government has not signed off on its 200 million dollar commitment for the O-Train line from the University of Ottawa to Barrhaven.
