Indian Tea Boards new e-auction system

Published September 30th, 2006

The Tea Board of India has chalked out a new e-auction system that protects the privacy of the transacting parties, thus enhancing the process of price discovery in a transparent and efficient manner.

The board is now trying to get comments from the stakeholders on the discussion paper on the proposed new system.

Tea auction, under the new system, will be enabled on trading terminals provided for buying and selling tea, which will be assigned codes, which are a unique combination of mark, garden and grade.
