Castlebar development site for auction

Published September 21st, 2006

A PRIME development site in the business hub of Castlebar will go under the hammer on Thursday, September 21.

The site, located on the Lough Lannagh Road at Newtown borders the back of Tesco and is ideal for retail outlets causing a huge stir in the county and further afield since news that it was on the market but this week will see interested parties get a chance to put a bid in with an auction in the Welcome Inn Hotel at 3pm.

A reserve price for the site, owned by Padraic Horkan of Horkan’s Garden Centre, will not be set until Thursday.

With extensive commercial and residential development on the Hopkin’s Road and at the Traveller’s Friend in recent months, the site is causing quite a stir among developers in the town and further afield.

With information on the site forwarded to developers and auctioneers throughout the West, the auction is expected to attract huge crowds.

Details on the site are available from Kevin Beirne Auctioneers in Castlebar on 0949044777.
