Australian Aboriginal Art – Australian Auction Info
Aboriginal art is estimated to be worth $12million a year at fine art auctions; some people estimate the overall market to be up to $200 million, when everything from craft to tourist tat is counted.
In this month’s budget, the federal Government almost doubled its funding for the Aboriginal component of the much discussed Quai Branly museum, to open in Paris next month: adding $440,000 to bring the total to $820,000.
