IronPlanet (http://www.ironplanet.com/), the third-largest heavy equipment auction company in North America, sold $10.4 million of equipment and trucks during its April 20 auction.
“This is a huge milestone for us and the construction industry,” said Robert Alleger, CEO of IronPlanet. “Through the Internet, we were able to get thousands of people from around the world to bid on hundreds of pieces located in 37 states — something you can’t do with a physical auction.
