Early Manchester United programme for auction
Published April 5th, 2006
A football programme documenting Manchester United’s first match at Old Trafford has been put up for sale.
Auctioneers said they expect it to fetch about £3,500 when it goes on sale at Ludlow Racecourse, in Shropshire, on Wednesday.
The eight-page programme dates back to 19 February 1910, when United played against Liverpool.
It describes the new stadium and team line-ups and contains pictures of some of the stars of the time.
Auctioneers said that as Manchester United memorabilia attracts worldwide interest they expect a flurry of bidding when the sale gets under way.
