THE first-ever online auction site just for the Harrogate area has been launched by the Harrogate Advertiser.
Lot 24-7 went live earlier this week at www.harrogatetoday.co.uk
It works like international website eBay – but has the advantage of only showing items for sale in this area.
Rowena Wallace, Group internet commercial manager is behind the launch.
She said: “It’s become a way of life for many people over the last few years to buy and sell online. That’s fine if you’re selling things which are easy to post to buyers all over the world.
“But it’s been difficult to buy and sell online to only local people.
“And it’s been impossible to sell things like your fridge in an online auction. Lot 24-7 fills that gap.”
The site is powered by established auction site QXL, which means sellers can choose to reach a wider audience.
