A VC won by Sgt John Shaul, then 26, of the Highland Light Infantry, a medical orderly at the Battle of Magersfontein in the Boer War, is expected to fetch up to £120,000 at auction in London next month. Four Highland regiments lost nearly 1,000 men in the 1899 battle.
