ONLINE auction site eBay needs to do more to tackle fraud, a leading consumer watchdog has warned after a spike in the number of eBay related complaints to the police.

The Metropolitan Police said it is dealing with 130 eBay crimes a month, a number that Which? claims is mirrored across the UK.

According to the Police, criminals are turning away from drugs and robbery in favour of low-risk, high volume crimes on eBay. It is claimed that at any one time, around 300 items listed on eBay will be fraudulent.
