According to US newspaper MetroWest Daily News, one website, millionmaker.co.uk, which since yesterday morning was unavailable, promised a profit of 6,000 dollars a month within the first six month.
The company, which was registered to a Neil Entwistle in York, claimed to offer 24-hour, seven-day-a-week support to those with adult internet businesses, the newspaper said.
Another company registered to Neil Entwistle, Embedded New Technologies Limited, did not list any products or services on one of its sites but on another appeared to be selling more computer-related products.
It was registered to an address next door to where Mrs Entwistle’s mother lives in Carver, Massachusetts.
The newspaper also said a seller on internet auction site eBay, which had received numerous complaints, was the Entwistles.
