EBay Wins In Court Case

The U.S. Supreme Court, to the surprise of many court watchers, decided to hear a case involving the online auction giant and small patent holding company, MercExchange. The high court agreed to review whether an appeals court should have ordered in March
The two businesses currently total in excess of one-third of eBay’s revenue. The decision grew out of a court case in which eBay was ordered to pay $25 million to MercExchange for infringing on its patented system of using low-cost terminals and market-making computers to create an online auction.
